After years of dealing with the frustrating Alabama summer and sometimes fall humidity, I have finally decided to try a product I only thought would be a perfect fit for relaxed hair and in all honesty, I hoped that this will be my saving grace. I am fine with my hair poofing up and my styles magically evolving into a totally different creation every 7 minutes however, I too deserve to steady my head and heart, and take a break from the spontaneity my tresses provide.
If you are familiar with my YouTube channel, I have a video showcasing a hairstyle I did using curlformers and I loved everything about the look. I did however wish I had less frizzy ends. My hair was silky everywhere but the ends. Yes, maybe I just needed a trim but I have styled my hair after a trim and have had trouble maintaining styles like twistouts and braidouts as I live in a humid environment.
I grabbed the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Mousse, hoping that it will help combat the frizz inducing humidity.
Let’s get the specs out of the way and jump right into the review;
Aqua (Water) (Eau), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyquaternium – 11, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-40 Lanolin, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Mel (Honey) (Miel), Olea Europea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140 (yellow 5), CI 14700 (Red 4)
- Defines curls, gives hold for twist-outs
- Leaves wraps soft & full of body
- Moisturizes dry, brittle hair & prevents frizz
Let’s start with the consistency; I shook the bottle and frothy stuff came out when I pressed the pump. It was a frothy foam and i found this interesting and fun to play with. I have never used a hair product that does this. The longer i let it sit on my hand, I noticed it was somewhat reverting to it’s liquid state so this is a product you want to squirt out and use.
As I rubbed my hands together i noticed that this mousse felt so smooth and i could feel the ‘oil’ in the product. Application as you will see in the video linked below was so easy and smooth. As nervous as i was to use this product since it is white and I fear having powdery flakes in my hair, I just dived in. It goes on white and dries clear. I used this product to style my hair in a flat twist out and a braid out on different occasions.
As pictured in the slideshow below, you can see the sheen and hold I received. This mousse gives great hold without the crunchy feel. From my previous post you know I use gels to style my wash and go styles but after the results I got with the above styles I had to give it a go for a wash and go #bars
What I will say about this mousse is that it cuts down drying time as it is lightweight and pretty much a liquid in comparison to other styling products like butters, creams and gels. My hair was freely flowing in the wind. Keeping it’s lightweight in mind, let’s visit the other end of the spectrum. Due to it being light, it doesn’t weigh the hair down so this means that I got more volume with my styles. This can be both a desirable and undesirable thing but as for me, #BigHairDontCare…. Need i say more?
Check out my video review showing you this product in action. I show you the consistency, application and result of me using this mousse as a styler.
In a nutshell….It’s a YES for me!
