Many naturals can attest to the fact that they have slept through the night with deep conditioner in their hair. This notion that the longer it stays the more nourishment your hair receives was just wrong yet, many naturalistas on YouTube and blogs would encourage it. Blindly many follow and waste a lot of time and sometimes have to schedule their whole day around “wash day”. I fell prey to this misinformed routine but that God, I am in the know now.
Research has shown that your hair needs at most 35 minutes to absorb all the nutrients from a hair treatment at a time. Anything after that is just sitting on your hair and not penetrating. I normally keep mine in for 40-45 minutes for good measure; old habits die hard right.
When I ran across this 3 minute miracle moist deep conditioner by Aussie, I was skeptical yet hopeful. 3 minutes? Natural hair is naturally dry and needs an abundance of moisture. I had to try it because this 3 minute phenomenon could be a game changer. Look, that’s an extra 37+ minutes added to my day. I need every second I can grab. Have y’all met my boys?
Ingredients: Water/Eau, Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Dimethicone, Fragrance/Parfum, Benzyl Alcohol, Glutamic Acid, EDTA, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ecklonia Radiata Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolino
Fro those people who are on a ‘boo silicone’ streak, this might not be the miracle for you. Just so you know, dimethicone is a water soluble silicone that does provide a bit of buildup but that’s washable right.
In my video review linked below, you will see how awesome of a detangler this product is. My hair truly did feel stronger and moisturized after I rinsed it off. I would recommend adding this to your arsenal of products. I wouldn’t solely use this product to deep condition at all times. I believe in having a few products that might do the same thing, but have a variation in ingredients. I mean, you may love fruits but that can’t be your only source of nutrition.
I’m looking forward to trying other 3 minute deep conditioners.
