It’s amazing how easy it is to make products for hair care and hair styling. I took a stab at making my own flaxseed gel in 2014 and the results left a lot to be desired to say the least. This year I ran across the bag of flaxseed meal and thought, “there’s no harm in trying again…”
I made my own flaxseed gel and this time I succeeded. 2017 is off to a great start.
Flaxseed Gel doesn’t have a long shelf life even when kept in the refrigerator so I took advantage of it as much as I could.
Benefits of for Hair:
*Contains OMEGA-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to support scalp health.
*The healing properties these seeds have whether applied as an oil, gel or mask, help in providing a healthy environment for healthy hair growth.
*Flax seeds also contain disease-fighting compounds that may help fight hair loss.
The video here shows how I actually made it. Instead of 1/4 cup of flaxseeds I used 1/3 cup of the flaxseed meal and kept the water at 2 cups. Because this was flaxseed meal instead of the actual seeds, I failed to take into account that factor in my first go around. I decided to use more of the flaxseed meal than what’s recommended for the flaxseeds and kept telling water level the same. The consistency and texture was perfect.
I added a new product to my product staples list. I’ll be doing this again…
